This is my final draft for the kappa sigma logo. This is meant to be a general symbol for recruitment and promotion of the fraternity. For inspiration I looked through a number of fraternity logos. Delta zeta had an interesting design where the D was on top of the Z and it made a pyramid design, I found that interesting and took inspiration from that. Because of that I decided to use the K and the sigma and connect them, so they look as if they are one intricate shape. I think the design came out pretty well. I had to add some extra lines and troubleshoot the shapes but in the end it worked. I decide on the square inside the circle by playing around with the shape effects. I originally had two circles, one bigger than the other. I then changed the outside circle to have jagged edges. I decided to make the shape have only four corners because I likes the way it looked. I then colored in the four pockets. The colors are crimson, ivory, teal and emerald, the colors of Kappa Sigma. I placed a banner in top left of the logo with the work “Rush” in it. This is signaling that this is a piece of recruitment material. In the bottom right I have when the fraternity was founded. In the critiques of my peers I was told many different opinions of what to do with the design. One wanted the labels inside the circle, and some wanted completely different things. One person wanted me to write the word “Kappa Sigma” instead of the letters. In the end I decided to only change the color of the rush symbol in the top left corner to match with the “Established” Sign in the bottom right corner. Overall, I am happy with the final design of the logo.
